It's interesting that you characterize anyone who is in favour of laws restricting dangerous animals as a dog hater.

pehaps you should think about what is being said and less about what you THINK is being said.

For instance, I was once visciously attacked by a German Shepherd. The dog was trying to tear my arm apart. Unfortunately , this dog was a SPCA rescue from a drug house, where the "owner" fed the dog only occasionally by tossing in a bag of food thru a window. The dog was badly conditioned, and it's new owner was unable to properly control it.

Do you see me calling for hte destruction of all German Shepherds? No. Just as you don't see me calling for the destruction of all bull terriers.

As for a proper assessment, it's easily done, and there are many organizations that can tell if a dog has a tendancy to bite for no reason.
