Sondre Lerche Returns With A New Album And A New Tour!

Tour with full-live band to kick off in Toronto on May 8

New York, NY-- Norwegian singer-songwriter Sondre Lerche, returns to the U.S. this May to support his sophomore album, Two Way Monologue, out now. This will be the first time Sondre tours the US with his full live band.

Sondre's debut album, Faces Down was the perfect antidote to the manufactured synthetic pop choking the joy and imagination out of modern music. As impossible to categorize as you would imagine from a list of influences that include Burt Bacharach, Jeff Buckley, High Llamas, Elvis Costello, Steely Dan, Beck and Cole Porter, the album was an instant hit in Norway and critically well-received in Europe, Britain and the US, where it made Rolling Stone's top 50 albums of 2002. A stunning performance on Last Call with Carson Daly as well as extensive touring further enhanced Sondre's reputation. His live show was praised in Billboard: "gorgeous folk-pop melodies, goose-bump-generating vocals and astounding finger-work on the guitar."

Now he's fulfilled all the promise of his precocious debut with Two Way Monologue, an audacious second album of astonishing maturity and vividly melodic songs. From the fragile acoustics of the melancholic "It's Too Late" to the almost symphonic variations of the title track and on to the
uplifting shiny pop candy of "On The Tower," it's an album of breath-taking diversity and imagination that refreshes popular music as a creative force.

"With some Bacharach, some Beatles and some bossa nova, Lerche channels a CNN-era ennui with songs that thrum with early-'60s optimism." -GQ

"He's only twenty-one and looks even younger, but this thinking person's pop star writes ornate, Sunday-morning melodies that suggest a composer twice his age." - ROLLING STONE

"Two Way Monologue bears witness to the growth of an already talented young songwriter for whom the title 'talented young songwriter' seems quite inadequate." - PITCHFORK

"Sunny California lounge pop from the land of endless winter nights." - INTERVIEW
