Coffee, Tea Or…Taglieri???
East Rutherford, NJ - Laid back but never mellow, John Taglieri is set to release Half & Half on September 23, 2003 through Leap Dog Music. The long awaited follow-up to the singer / songwriter's debut effort, Leap Of Faith, Half & Half is exactly what the title implies - half studio recordings, half live material, all acoustic.
The twelve songs on the album are divided evenly, six studio cuts and six live cuts. Most of the live recordings were taken from John's performance at New York City's famed Bottom Line, when he opened for guitar legend and Triumph founder, Rik Emmett. John was introduced on stage by popular Canadian comedian, Rick Wharton and you can hear the electricity in the room as it rolls off of your CD from the moment his set begins. Comprised of tracks taken from Leap Of Faith and introducing new material, Taglieri shows the raw power, energy and emotion that go into his live shows, and you can hear the crowd feed off this energy with raucous applause and sing alongs. One live track was recorded live on the air at a radio interview and the playfulness of Taglieri and his band show through.
The studio tracks are all brand new songs written over the course of the past few years and take the listener on a joyride from hope to heartache and everywhere in between. Produced by Doug Mackie, the studio cuts are a great blend of tender ballads and exciting upbeat songs. Guesting on the CD are Larry Chaney (The Edwin McCain Band), John Calendrillo (The John Taglieri Band) and guitar virtuoso Neil Rambaldi, bringing added flavor and great guitar work to the CD.
"I'm truly excited about this CD" says Taglieri. "Two years ago I went on tour with no band and did it alone. As hard and as intimidating as it was, I fell in love with it. The vibe, the challenge, having to be "ON" every second of every show…the rush was awesome. But the best part was hearing the songs in their truest
form…acoustically. I wrote them that way, so playing them live that way just felt natural. This CD is more emotional and true to who I am than you've ever heard before and I hope that everyone truly enjoys it."
Taglieri will support the album's release with a full scale tour beginning on September 15th, 2003 in Asheville, NC and continue through the end of the year and into 2004 with solo acoustic and full band dates stretching all along the East Coast.
