I have been to both Sanibel and Marco islands. I feel the prices are comprable but that you get way more for you money on Sanibel unless you golf or have a boat there is little else to do on Marco and the beaches by no means compare in beauty to Sanibels. Further I own a condo at the Sea Shells of Sanibel and our rates have not raised since the hurricane. From April to December my unit # 45 is still under $700 a week,less than a hundred dollars a day if you rent by the week and $130 if you rent by the day. It is on West gulf and has a deeded access to the beach. Maybe those that say they can't find affordable rates should check it out. I'll stick with Sanibel over Marco any day.
