You have got to be kidding me....
Marco is soooooooooooooooooooo much less expensive for much more upscale homes!

But...if you want the quiet and beauty of what an island really is...Sanibel and Captiva have it beat.

With Sanibel and Captiva, you are able to get to the beach from many locations. Private homes are located right on the beach or have beach access on Captiva.

If you rent on Marco, the high rise condos and hotels are right on the beach, but if you prefer to rent a private home and have your own pool and jacuzzi, you only have the option of two beach access points. 1. the sludge area they call tiger beach. and then 2. the south beach entrance. There is a beautiful "residents only" beach, but you have to rent for a month or own to go there.

I vacation in both spots. During Season, I vacation on Marco because the price is lower and you can actually drive around and still have the sun. Off season it is Captiva and Sanibel.

Each place is its own, but the cost of staying at a home on Marco is much less.
