Subject: one day trip report

I wanted to give a short trip report after a way-too-short day on Sanibel a week ago. I went on a weekday after hearing traffic on weekends is bad. The traffic through Ft. Myers to and from the Causeway was very heavy...and it wasn't even rush hour. The traffic on Sanibel wasn't bad at all. I hadn't been there since the hurricane so I was kind of dreading seeing what it was like....it's still wonderful. I went to Blind Pass Beach...watched a dolphin and found the most shells there. Also went to the City Park Beach...not many shells at all and went to the beach by the Mucky Duck on Captiva...The beach on Captiva was crowded. Also did some shopping and stopped at Jerry's for a lunch to take to the beach. Don't miss the parrots in the cages there especially if you have kids. Several of them were very talkative and very active. Lots of fun to watch. The shops were full of fun things...One store in the shopping center at Jerry's had tons of artwork...really nice things and not expensive. I left after sunset so the traffic leaving wasn't bad at all. It is such a special place and I can't wait to go back..hopefully for more than a day!
