Shelling seems to be better in the winter months than summer but if you look, you will find some treasures. We found an alphabet & a beautiful orange banded tulip shell two weeks ago so I was happy. If a storm should come through, you will get some great finds. Just get out there before everyone else does!
Restaurants have been slow this time of the year so you can pick & choose.
The Great White Grill has delish pizzas, salads, & the most extensive beer collection on the island. Biddles Bucket(Formerly Gasparilla's) is child friendly. Though I don't imagine a 12 year old considers themself a child still, ha ha. The Sanibel Grill is always great for sports & sips. It is a local favorite as is Doc Ford's Rum Bar & the Lazy Flamingo. For an upscale Italian try La Dolce Vita. For family Italian and more, go to Matzaluna.
Both the Jacaranda & Mc Ts have great happy hours with both drink & food specials, as does the Beachview(a hidden secret to visitors on the island)
Whatever you choose, sit back & relax.....I guarantee you your first vist will not be your last!
