It will be HOT! I've already heard the water temp is already 90 degrees. Stay in the water as much as you can, carry a bottle of water at all times. Afternoon storms are normal, but I think they stir up the shells. I found shopping is best to be done in the a.m., I wish the shops were open later in the evening. Being on the beach at sunrise is a wonderful time, it's cooler and a great time to look for shells. Don't expect the beach to yourself, there will quite a few people walking the beach. The noseeums will be more plentiful at sunset. (use a spray with DEET). Just use caution, if you like hats that would give you some shade. Enjoy yourself and don't forget to stop and rest & watch for dolphins, too many people just do the stoop & forget about the wildlife. Sanibel has a lot to offer. Enjoy.
