Subject: Sanibel/Captiva post hurricanes

We live in London,England and have visited the islands some 8 or 9 times over the years,but not since 2003. We know they suffered badly from hurricanes. Has the vegetation recovered,say at Periwinkle or on the drive north after Blind Pass? Is the Pirates Playhouse theatre open? Are all the shops back in action?
