We stayed at Pointe Santo last November and we did notice less people than usual. As for the prices, I still consider Sanibel a great bargain. We use to vacation on the Outer Banks in NC and their prices are very high. Sanibel looks beautiful but different than you probably remember and it's amazing how quick the vegation is growing. Right after Charlie when you would drive up to Captiva you could see all of those houses that were once hidden by trees and now they are hidden again. Some of the restaurants have changed owners and some old owners have come back. Sanibel is really no different from all of our cities in this slow economy. We can't wait to get back this year we're planning on renting a house for 5 weeks.
