] Date Posted: 14:24:55 10/31/06 Tue I have a better understanding than most of how radio works as I had been in the broadcasting business for several years. I wouldn't mind knowing if the corporate owners had the courtesy of letting you or their own staff know ahead of time about the change. Here's what happened for those aren't in the know...The radio group that owns 104.5 the river, what was 94.1 the buzz and the progressive talk radio acquired some memphis stations that were owned by another group, which happens to own stations such as 93x, FM100, etc. I see it now as they are downsizing their operation and I don't know if they plan to totally merge facilities but they may as well considering that 104.5 is now the only one in the buying group to staff on-air talent as far as I can tell (listen closely, you will not hear a real person, just "liners") I saw in a previous post that some FM100 morning jocks got booted, possibly in favor of picking up a syndicated program come January (when new contracts begin). IF THIS IS THE CASE...those of us in Memphis need to contact FM100 and basically say we will listen if they get Kidd Kraddick, the more the better. I'd say start now, just call and say we want Kidd and it should be cake. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
