[> Great read. I love that the 4 original or ‘near’ original characters staid really close. It was also fun to see some ‘old’ faces. Season 9-10 could’ve easily progressed to this very satisfying ending. As for Harriet’s pregnancy (inside)… -- doc, checking in..., 16:19:01 12/10/07 Mon [1]

,,,I would be a bit remiss if I didn’t make one tiny statement regarding ‘malpractice’ and Harriet’s pregnancy. My input had to do with pregnancy ‘dating’ no medical care. Just for the record, nothing that Harriet experienced in this story would be considered malpractice. While it is distressing & sad to miscarry a fetus, there is nothing that can be done at 13 weeks gestation for either the pregnancy or the baby. At 13 weeks, she was still 11-12 weeks too early to achieve the extreme limits of viability. She is also still too early for an OB to do anything to prevent a loss. If she were close to viability, MAYBE something could’ve been done, but not at 13 weeks. So whether the fetal distress/loss was detected by a resident in the ER on the 4th of July or by her primary OB several days later, neither would’ve made a difference. The OB/resident did nothing that came close to malpractice. Oh, in the ‘real’ world, a resident has to staff a new patient with an attending!

Sorry to critique the medical info, but since my name was mentioned, I thought I better make that clear.
