I Love You, My Dear

I love you, my dear,
And the way that you make me feel.
The way that you hold my hand
Sends shivers up my spine.
And when you offer my your shoulder
To rest my weary head upon,
My soul melts.
Wrapped in your arms, cuddling
I am safer than anywhere else,
Close enough to hear your heart beating
To feel your soft breath on my hair
And to share warmth,
As I am always cold.

I love you, my dear,
And the chivalrous things you do,
Opening doors and letting me lead the way.
(Or is that because you might get lost?)
You offer to cook for me
And I know that you want to impress me
With your skill and knowledge
In every aspect of life.
But most of all,
You steal my heart
When you let me choose what movie to watch
And you even give me the remote.

I love you, my dear,
And most of your little quirks,
For though I love
Your cracking jaw,
And the imitations that you do,
Your driving skills are appalling!
But I adore the way
You try to make me laugh
And argue with me over
Who loves whom more.
And when you guess about
The plot of books I insist you read,
You are amazingly silly.

Though you can not drive well,
And you have no sense of direction,
Despite your silliness,
Which really is endearing,
And your goals to tickle me
That drive me nuts,
Regardless of your stupid dog
Who jumps on and scares me,
I love you my dear!
