At one of the support meetings one of the grads mentioned that it is not always possible to not take drugs when in a situation that calls for it. For instance, when one is involved in some sort of accident requring hospital care.

The suggestion this grad had, in order to keep oneself from returning to using, in this sort of situation, was to get someone else involved. Have someone else hold onto the medication and give it to you as prescribed by the doctor, or only when absolutely needed. This helps keep you accountable, and it's a good plan to have to protect your sobriety.
