Kill or die horribly? If I could do the whole read the human's mind trick,I know I would feed early to make sure that I caused the least damage/greatest good. There ARE people who would make the world a better place by ceasing to exist. And, much as it pains me to say it, the WHY doesn't always matter.

If I couldn't read minds, I would still try to plan my hunts early and often....the research would just be a little less sure, that's all. A quick trip through the court's OOP files would give a nice starting list.

Could I do it? From the sound of it, I wouldn't have a choice. The REAL choice would be WHO and when. That means planning early rather than waiting for the hunger.

Oh, as for "what about when we run out of the truly deserving" well, for better or worse, our society seems to keep saying "go ahead, consume, we'll make more". Actually, I guess "truly deserving" isn't really right...truly detrimental to those around them.

If vampires with consciences and ESP existed, it would be a GREAT leap forward for the darwinian evolution of the human species/culture.

Later,

Sardon
