Yes! Awesome director, and for all the reasons you mentioned. (I'm super excited about "Sucker Punch" too!) I think he could pull of a pretty damn good "GFD" movie if given the time and resources.

A possible director for me? I'd say...the Wachowski Bros. Easy. Because:

1- They have a unique visual style, taken from anime and comic books.

2- Also have no problems with gay issues (I believe one of them IS gay, actually. And have you seen "V For Vendetta"? Amazing! And it brings up the gay persecution issue two or three times in that movie)

3- Incredible with complex high adrenaline action scenes.

4- Fight choreography and martial arts are a must! They're good at coming up with ideas for that too. (Bows to Corey Yuen)

5- Also capable of handling intelligent, philosophical, content in their movies. So we wouldn't have to worry about them 'dumbing it down' for the masses.

6- They grew up in the Chicago area. They would know all the locations.

7- Can work special effects in new and revolutionary ways, no matter what they're filming.

So, yeah...those are my lucky 7 reasons for choosing the Wachowskis! :)

Anyone have any other ideas?

Others I Would Consider

- Chris Nolan (Dark Knight, Inception)

- James Cameron (Terminator 1 & 2, Titanic, Avatar, Aliens)

- Bryan Singer - (X-Men 1 & 2, Superman Returns)

(All of these directors are known for handling large stories and complex characters. Plus they can do kick ass action and still tell a 'story'. I like that.)
