Simply because, while that is an excellent idea (and even a morally sane one if you ask me!), if that elite work anything like they do with the 'safeguard marks'...the rich and powerful would do just about anything to keep from being robbed of their millions.

So I wonder...what would they do to protect their investments? Once they found out about the vampire threat, would they have access to the Elders and demand a retaliation? Would other vampires be willing to make a fortune 'protecting' them against their own kind? Could there b an extra that 'blocks' readers from getting that information?

Unfortunately, the crooked fat cats are well guarded most of the time. So that would be a whole other conflict between the worlds of daylight and darkness. You know?
