Subject: Question about being turned into a vampire.

I'm not sure if this would be a question for "Thursday's Question", so I'm posting it here. Anyway, my question is about what happens in order for a host/childe to become a vampire.

In most stories/movies I've read/saw have there host/child drinking the vampire's/sire's blood in order to complete the change (this is done when the host is on the verge of death). It's an exchange of fluid(blood), if you will. Now, Anne Rice have her vampires turned this do to how her vampires can drink the last drop/bits of blood from the donor otherwise it will draw the vampire in and the vampire will (at lest that's what I got from "Queen of the Damned" movie).

In other cases, however, a bit will simply do. During teh bite, there is a virus(if you could call it that)is transfer to the host/child and that's what turn the person/childe. Through this process, however, there is a chance that the vampire turning a donor into a vampire during feeding. A simple way around this would be draining the donor completely of blood.

I'm asking this because in "GFD: Genesis," Justin is turned through a bit, or at least I believe to be just a bit, and I want to find out what everyone think on this topic . . . an exchange of fluid(blood) or a bite that transfers a virus of sort to turn a host/childe into a vampire?
