I remember that legend too. The first vampire story I ever wrote (Which I was hoping to turn into a movie trilogy) was about that. It's pretty much the predecessor to "GFD". Basically, it was about vampires that could get the energy they needed psychically instead of through drinking blood. Because blood to vampires (while a much easier and direct way to get the energy they needed, and required no training or discipline of any kind) was like a narcotic. Once you go down that road, it became so addictive that it turned the vampires into savages that couldn't stop. It was weird, but I liked it though.

Sounds like a cool study though. I'll have to try to catch it the next time it's on. Maybe I'll get some more ideas. :)
