if you download a avi and convert it to single layer burn and also a double layer burn then BOTH copys will be the same quality cos you got the same original file to begin with

crap in crap out / quality in and quality out

you cannot make a "normal" file into a better file

if you want hi-def pics then download hidef material however you will also need a hidef dvd player to play the dvds unless you use your pc and true Hi-Def is blu-ray and those films are 20 gigs plus in size
