DUDLEY — Michael J. Rivera, 50, of 33 Lakeview Ave, died Friday July 23, 2010 in Tuffs New England Medical Center, Boston after a struggle with heart disease.

He leaves his two sons: Nicholas Rivera and Alexander Rivera of Dudley; one sister, Holly LaMountain and her husband Henry of Oxford, MA; three brothers: Joseph Motrucinski and his wife Carolyn of Webster, James Rivera and his wife Lori and Robert Rivera and his wife Kelly all of Dudley, MA; his companion, Denise Aguilo; several nieces and nephews; and former wife, Susan (Rock) Rivera of Worcester.

He was born in Webster, MA, the son of the late Jesus Rivera and the late Linda (Jodoin) Motrucinski and has made Dudley his home for the past 25 years.

Michael graduated from Bartlett High School. He was a corrections officer for 20 years at Cedar Junction in Walpole. He transferred to MCI Shirley when they opened and had recently retired after 30 years service to the Commonwealth. Michael was a 22 year member of the Webster Fire Department and had retired as a lieutenant. Mike enjoyed spending time with his boys, hunting, classic cars and snowmobiling. Many will remember him with a microphone in his hand for his love of Karaoke.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 26 at 10:00 AM in Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Garden Of Peace Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours will be held on Sunday July 25 from 4 to 8 PM at Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley. Flowers may be sent or donations to a charity of ones choice.
