More The U.S. Attorney's office in Providence said Friday that Juan Carlos Espejo Sanchez, of Providence, and Doneri Aguilar Sandoval, of Attleboro, Mass., were charged with conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. They appeared in federal court and were ordered detained. Authorities say 40-year-old Sanchez is a Mexican citizen. They allege he orchestrated shipment of 13.75 kilos of the drug from California to Massachusetts while jailed on an immigration matter at the Bristol County House of Corrections in New Bedford. Authorities say 52-year-old Sandoval arranged to pick up the drugs at Twin River Casino in Lincoln. It's not immediately known if they have lawyers.
