I will soon have my 1988 s-10 ready to race, with the class opening up I'm thinking of putting on some new rear wheels and tires to run the class. I have an after market block and hope to test some of the others that are now doing the same that run the class. When I first heard of the class I thought it was a great idea,(under the rules posted at the track), the rules made me think of how racers had to have the perfect set up as it relats to chasis, and some of the best tuned motors using factory blocks. To put it mildy, I respected what the racers were doing and running following the posted rules. Just because I may choose to run the class, some make take it as a victory for getting more racers, however, I was going to race any way. The racers that have spent money and effort building cars under the posted rules should get something, maybe weight advantage depending on small block or big block. It seems like each individual wants rules that allow them to run the class ans still win, and if the rules continue to change, I gues it could be a 8in or 9.5in class next year? If racers don't have confidence in rule enforcement with inspection and weighing, it will turn into "yellow belly" with nothing but cambling and a crappy track to do it on because of low revenue. I look forward to running in the next six weeks and just wonder if I win want the new rules will be.

If you win what will the new rules be????.......lol....I guess you gotta win one before that even becomes a factor huh?? Anybody who has raced on small tires for more than about 10 minutes or so has already figured out that it is not about power....its about power management. pretty much every car in the class can spin the tires at just about any point on the track......so how is letting higher powered cars in the class going to be a detrement?? if they show up and try....then our goal is achieved....some of them will figure it out and be fast and others will just do a burnout exhibition....kinda like it is now.....just with more cars.
