This is in response to a recent article concerning the plight of children of deported illegal aliens. First, the parents are not undocumented immigrants. They are illegal aliens who had no right to be here to have the children.

Second, it is the parents responsibility to arrange for the safety and security of their children in the event that something should happen to the parent. These parents know the position they are in and that they could be deported at any time. It is their responsibility, not the taxpayers, to have arrangements in place to provide for the children.

Third, it is the parents who decide to leave the children behind. They must decide whether the children would be better off with them in another country or here without them. We should not reward them with five-year renewable visas for entering our country illegally.

Unfortunately, this problem will continue until our government secures our borders.
