The wait was always tortuous. Each time the nurse emerged, I was afraid it was my turn and every time she summoned someone else instead, I was relieved even though the prolonged wait exacerbated my nervousness. Once I heard through the open door that she was giving a girl a shot and was thrilled to see the girl gingerly rubbing her bottom when she came out. When it was my turn, I didn't want those outside to know where I was getting it, so I pulled everthing down and bent over before they could hear the nurse tell me to do so. After getting it, I realised that I could have had it in the arm but I was afraid to ask for it there lest others hear the nurse refuse my request.
