Yes Bob! Lots of folks are saying that. But in all fairness to the Trustees, Mr. Osburn tried to make a motion to settle this months ago. I don't believe that Mr. Griggs was directly involved either. Neither was involved in the direct and obvious way that Riley was.
Here's the point: After the dirt disappeared, Riley and Tarsitano went together to see Mr. Simmons and ask what happened. They reported that Simmons said-- "no one told me he (Tarsitano) wanted his dirt." (That makes it pretty obvious that Riley hadn't told HIM!) In investigating this I also spoke at length w/ Neal Stewart and the Kingsville Road Crew who were also present that day. Again, they said Riley never said a word about Mr. Tarsitano wanting his dirt. That's shameful considering that Riley actually went to the vineyard, walked the property and spoke directly to Tarsitano who told him he wanted the dirt.
Now later, at a Board meeting, Riley said Tarsitano didn't say he wanted "ALL" the dirt. But since Riley apparently didn't tell the road crews that Tarsitano wanted "any of it.." that's not only a mute point but a ridiculous suggestion. After all, why would someone with "special dirt," allow it to be taken away and discarded?
