• I don't think any one is "afraid" of the truth. If this is who I'm pretty sure it is, we were at the pageant and watched and do not agree with you. Your dd is a pretty and sweet child but is not yet at the same level as a lot of the other girls in her age group. • I am not sure what this post is even about, but it is true that 5 of us could watch a pageant video and have 5 different opinions-if a good pageant, rarely would the winner be obvious standout to everyone.   • This has nothing to do with the Elite pageant. It also is not just an opinion. It is what EVERYONE could see by watching this tape from this pageant. It isn't because of who won or who didn't . It is because this tape shows clearly what others have said for years. It is not that I am trying to bash , trash, or other wise. But to warn others that there is PROOF as to what is said and to save your money and take in another system. However we have some very not so nice people out there who I feel do not like it that I have this proof of what I am saying and willing to show it. Maybe you are one who just wants to get it. • TM? Still comes down to opinion though. And for those that had asked about Elite connection to TM previously, other than so many competing both, few years ago Elite director was the TM area local director as well, so they have worked together for year. So, maybe makes sense TM girls would do well? Not sure if judges had done any tm judging or not. They came back and she didnt make top 10, and thats all it boils down to.You win some you lose some, We all do , Get over it already. Everybody has the tapes and has watched it.     • Okay, MB won overall beauty title and overall talent in MD at the TM state pageant. So I guess that "never" is a misnomer. Fact is, I'm not angry because she didn't place until I saw the tapes and got the judges scores. Are the requirements different for every TM pageant from state to state? Also, there were others in her age group that deserved to place better or just place as well. I'm not saying that she should have won. In fact, there were some very good girls there.       • But we've prob all been in the situation where we felt our daughters should have placed better or that someone else should have/could have won that day-whether at TM, or Elite, or Miss America for goodness sake. That is still our opinion-sometimes it's many others' opinion, it's bittersweet when everyone tells you on the way out they thought you had it. • I would say each state differs in their pageants, judging and opinions. This could start a huge controversy however... if you compare.... VA girls have more of an "it factor" than other northern states. I've looked at web site photos... VA pageant girls and other southern states just seem to have a different "total package".   • DD is a VA pageant girl. Just went to MD for the TM state where she competed with other VA pageant girls and won. I wasn't questioning where they are from, I was questioning whether or not the rules or judging styles change from state to state for the same pageant system. DD has done well in other pageants both in this state and abroad. Sometimes she wins and sometimes she loses. We know the name of the game and we deal with it. TM is the only system were my dd has come off the stage BEFORE crowning and said that she didn't want to return. Not saying that others don't have a positive experience, just not for us.     • Bingo! That is the key-every pageant has it's own 'quirks' and good and bad; instead of trying to get everyone to watch the video, make the loudest statement of all-DON'T Go Back! Yes, TM has been discussed for years, some love it, many others don't. Many have tried it and for whatever reason (my dd included) didn't care for the experience and chose not to return. There are plenty of other pageants. We don't keep spending hard earned $$ on one we don't like, or don't agree with or just didn't enjoy the experience. There are others my dd begs to do, and it isn't just those she's won at, but those we both feel are worth the $$ and enjoy the experience regardless of outcome.   • There is a connection except that someTM girls went to Elite and won. The contestant count I heard was very low. Seems all pageants have low count these days. There are just so many out there.             • I know that one of the GS has had many GS titles on all three levels (prelim, state and national) and has done very well in glitz.               • Not sure what natural you are doing but we do several and it is not just the face. You must do modeling just like any other pageant. The only difference is that when you win it is on your own beauty and not what the fake stuff can give you. Don't get me wrong if you like glitz then nothing wrong with it. • Poster said her DD did not want to return... Can she return, if she wanted to? Also, how many girls were in this MD pageant, and how long ago was this? The dang VA pageant was in MARCH, forget about it already, and MOVE on. Better yet, if this is how you feel you need to handle a situation like this, dont move on, just stop doing pageants... More important things in life, and you are overcome still by a 4 month old pageant. That is clear to see. I know you and I actually like you, but this is just uncalled for.
