Date Posted: 14:11:45 03/28/07 Wed i have this problem which has been troubling me since i was a kid, and it is my tendency to get distracted and to let time drift away in idleness... some people may simply call it laziness! i've asked a Bhikkhu about how to confront my laziness and was told that each morning when i wake up, i should spring out of bed totally as the mind has the least distraction at that time, and hence i could set the mind the right tone for the rest of the day. i have attempted to follow his advice, alas, it's still quite a struggle to spring out of bed as he suggested... my old habitual tendency is to lie in and struggle for at least 15 min to half an hour before i could get up.... this issue may sound trivial to many people, but to me i know it has a deep implication to how life is lived and conducted... anyone be so kind to give me some practical advice? meanwhile, i remember the Bhikkhu's advice every morning when i am getting myself out of bed. btw, from my understand of what the Bhikkhu had said, instead of getting out of bed for some external reason (which can be motivational, eg if i am meeting someone i like or going to do something i enjoy) which is a kind of 愛取, he suggested to do it without external reason.... any suggestion?
