I have a Zire 71 and am a newbie to Palm. I have created a searchable topical medical database in one of my address book categories which I created: (I call it Black Book) on my Zire ( because I didn't know how else to do it,) using the dedicated fields and custom fields and notes to hold the text data on each topic. This has proved cumbersome and limiting (due to text limitation of fields). I want to 1) be able to have unlimited searchable files on various topics, plus I want to be able to share the whole category Black Book with other Palm (and other brands)users, 3) I want to transfer my present data to the new system without having to retype it all (over 1000 items), 4) I want to be able to do the entry and transfer of present data via my laptop. Right now when I try to share my updates with my husband on his Zire, I must export to my husband's data base which then creates duplicates, which I must purge with a duplicate remover, however this doesnt work that well, since when I have made corrections, the "duplicate" remover leaves both the old and the new updated file on my husband's list.

I have been searching for purchasabel software to allow the above but don't understant half of what I read. Can anyone give me some advise on the best software for the above purposes?
