Subject: Well they actually do know in advance of the award photo's, that's why you don't see kids crying and jumping up and down in excitement like you see in Oireachtas photos.

When marks are close it adds to the excitement as it can be hard to add up seven marks for two, three and more dancers in order to work out final placements. Tension can be mighty and many dancers don't celebrate their win until final placings are displayed on the screen.
