从《北京杂种》到《东宫西宫》再到《过年回家》、《我爱你》、《江姐》和这部《绿茶》,张元的变化显而易见。

也许,很多人都会用“从地下转入地上”、“从艺术转向商业”、“从独立蜕变为妥协”等种种语汇来形容这个外国人眼中的“中国第一位独立导演”,但是看完《绿茶》后的我,却认为张元最大的变化在于,他终于明白了电影的人民性——电影是拍给观众看的。

就像他早前接受采访时所说,电影不该以沉闷作为“艺术”的代价。

显然,《绿茶》是一部充分落实了这一理念的影片。有趣,好看,同时不失艺术水准。充满悬念、极富戏剧张力的故事和有趣的台词首先就有让人继续阅读下去的冲动,再加上杜可风极富个性化的摄影、苏聪恰到好处的配乐,当然,还有姜文出色的表演、赵薇的多变和美丽,这诸多元素的叠加,成就了一部好看的艺术片,或者说成就了一部不失艺术水准的商业片。

比起被评论界广泛评论为“沉闷”的《紫蝴蝶》,《绿茶》在情节编织上的总体架构以及它无处不在的有趣,可以说是走了另一个极端,甚至让记者不断产生怀疑:这是姜文的片子,还是张元的?当然,电影是大家的艺术。

也许姜文确实做了很大的贡献,但张元作为导演,对影片总体把握上的成功是不可否认的。同为第六代,同是拍独立电影出身,同是由地下转入地上,但显然,张元比娄烨更清晰地认识了电影和市场之间的关系。

于是,我们有机会看到了这样一部由第六代导演执导的“好看”的电影。
