Walking My Land
I walked the length and breadth of the land within today,
it is a place which clearly reflects, my life in every way
Each person in my heart, whether known or unknown you see,
has a place of safe abode, it is theirs, inside of me
It is a place of safety, in His Spirit which resides,
and He it is who gives a refuge where each can rest and hide
You see He places thoughts of prayer and love
our spirit hears the call,
And so it is we pray and hope, for safety over all,
I walked on highest mountain, to see if any stray,
that I might go and help, for them to find their way
I went into the Valley low, where dark and heaviness had come,
the Light of God was in my hand, to help till night was done
I heard the cry of a dear friend, whose life is in distress
We walked together to a place, where she could find some rest,
I sought to see if there were places, which needed gates repaired,
or land where floods had come, left some inhabitants so scared,
I could not lay my head to rest, til all the land knew quiet
I labored on throughout the time, needed to quell the riot,
I saw the world pressing in, to rob my land of peace,
shaking hearts and souls and lives, sneaking around just like a thief
I went to God my Father, told Him I needed greater arms,
He granted me compassion and wrapped me from all harm,
I am the watchman on the tower, the one who fills the gap,
and it is placed within my hands, to find the snares, locate each trap
It is not by accident or happenstance the folks find harbor here,
it is given me by God above, to help defeat their fear
It is a land I clearly see, each loving face, each heart He placed within,
For we all labor together, to find healing , freeing us from effects of sin
I walked the length and breadth of the land within today
it is a place which clearly reflects, my life in every way
Each person in my heart, whether known or unknown you see,
has a place of safe abode, it is theirs, inside of me
It is a place of safety, in His Spirit which resides,
and He it is who gives a refuge where each can rest and hide
