That is a GREAT conversion story.
I had the same thing happen when I was about 20 and my GF was 18. At my urging, she tried it at a party.

She took a Marl. Light 100 from one of the other girls; it was a huge beach-house party for their high school graduation and everyone was feeling pretty good.

She took a couple of puffs and coughed; then the girl who gave it to her told her how to inhale the first few puffs without coughing.

She and I sat down, and she proceeded to begin taking bigger and bigger puffs. After about 2-3, she said "OMG, I actually feel HIGH! How can this be legal? It's awesome!" I just laughed and told her she'd get tolerance eventually if she kept it up.

For a long while after, she was a very occasional smoker; about once or twice a week. Every time she got a marvelous buzz; I think nicotine affects women, and particular women, very strongly--more so than men. I never got THAT good a buzz from it but she just loved it.

Unfortunately I broke up with her, but we live in the same area and twenty years later I saw her outside our local movie theater having an ML 100 and just pulling on that thing for all she was worth; she even did a triple-pump and held it for a good five seconds.
