Hi Kate. I'll have to ask Kelly if the boy who took her cigs from her perse intended on smoking them or was just playing an immature stupid joke. I do know she did tell his parents and he got into lots of trouble.

My friend Amy's parents do smoke (so I was able to smoke when I used to sit for her) and most if not all of her friends smoke. It seems sorta funny now that I used to babysit her. I'm only about four a half years older than her and while the age difference seemed huge like eight years ago, it's nothing now. She is very mature and I just love hangin with her.

It's good that most of the kids you babysit are 11 or younger. Like I said before, they'll likely see you as more of a grown-up and an authority figure if they see you smoking, especially if their parents also smoke. Personally I don't see why a mature 16 year old girl shouldn't be allowed to smoke and do other adult things. But I do understand where you will likely have problems with parents and other adults who don't completely get that you're growing up now.

Keep us informed on how it goes! :)

Hugs!
Lisa
