I've only been babysitting about a month but I can understand what you mean about it being stressful. It's not too often, as I said before, the kids are pretty good and we have a good time, but sometimes it can really be stressful when they start misbehaving.

I'll answer your questions in this post about spanking, but I know it is kind of getting away from Linda's subject of this board. I am going to leave access to my email in this post so if you want to talk more about it through email, I am good with that. But this is a really great board and I don't want to detract too much away from the topic of Linda's board, unless she doesn't have a problem with it.

I've only had to give one spanking (at least with the one family I told you about, I've spanked my little sister a couple times, also), but yes, I have threatened a spanking on a few occasions as well when they have been misbehaving. Usually that does the trick. Especially since I've had to spank that one time.

I don't know if I would ever deliberately smoke a cigarette during a spanking. I might smoke one before, if I am really mad and want to calm down and relax, like my mom has done with me sometimes. But I wasn't that mad the one time I had to spank, so I didn't have a cigarette beforehand.

Can I ask why your friend keeps a cigarette in her mouth when she spanks her son? I am assuming he doesn't like it because of the smoke?

My mom has had a cigarette lit sometimes when she has spanked me, but it was because she was already smoking and then I misbehaved and she just set it in the ashtray while she dealt with me.
