Kahlan, sorry I didn't respond to you about that sooner. My friend says she smokes while spanking her son (age 4) because it calms her down for the task at hand and lighting up is part of the routine that includes taking down his pants, putting him over her knee, etc. Usually she only gives him a few smacks so she doesn't have to stop and flick the ashes although she has had to do that a few times when he was really naughty.

I don't know if I would go that far but I totally support her.
