Subject: I am starting a Natural pageant system I have been putting together the details for about a year ( click in)

I am having trouble thinking of a name. My colors will be hot pink and black. I am having a contest to help decide a name for the pageant the winner will recieve a gift box filled with all kinds of little goodies and also a free basic package entry to the pageant email entry to mynaturalpageant@yahoo.com include your name address( to recieve your prize)age and email and you name ideas the deadline is Nov. 10th. This pageant will be all natural. I also need to get some ideas on prelim locations if you can give me some good ideas that would be great I will go to Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Missouri, Kansas & Nebraska and other areas if I have and interest. Let me know your ideas. For the first year we will hold a mini national for those who qualify at prelims and I hope by the second year we will have a national pageant. I also would like to know if you would like to see a get aquanted party where contestant would bring 1 age appropriate gift and have a gift exchange this would happen after the last event and before crowning and would give the girls something to do while scores are being added and checked. Also do You like to recieve in addition to your crown and banner would you like a trophy, plaque or a nice gift? Please I do value your input and I want to run a fair honest anf enjoyable pageant. I will follow my paperwork completely and I will have clear rules and information.

[> Iwould say that it would work out better if you gave trophys. We just did a pageant where they gave those gifts and they were conviently located on stage for all the kids to see. My daughter got 2nd alternate and also recieved a crown but when she saw a toy she wanted then she threw a fit. If all the kids arent going to get the same thing then trophys would have avoided this conflict. -- Anonymous, 06:24:30 10/24/07 Wed [1]

Also I want to be sure everyone get something whether they win or not do you like to see princess titles awarded with a princess sash and a small tiara or maybe an alternate medal and small gift or any other suggestions? -- Anonymous, 07:39:29 10/24/07 Wed [1]

[> [> [> [> THIS SHOULD NOT BE THIS WAY, THIS GIVES THE OTHER GIRLS THE IMPRESSION THAT THEY STILL WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH , YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT EVEN GIVE THEM ANYTHING, BECAUSE IF YOU GIVE THE QUEEN AND ALT. BRATZ DOLLS AND YOU GIVE THE NON WINNERS CHEAP PLAYDOUGH OR A KEYCHAIN WHEN SHE IS ONLY THREE WHAT SHOULD SHE DO WITH THAT. I WOULD FEEL THIS WAY FOR MY DD WIN OR LOSE. IT JUST ISNT FAIR, THE CROWNS AND SASHES ARE WHAT DISTINGUISH THEM FOR THE AUDIENCE, BUT MAKE ALL THE GIRLS FEEL EQUAL WITH THE TOYS. BECAUSE MOST OF THE TIME THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THE CROWN JUST THE TOYS. AT LEAST WHEN THE ARE YOUNGER -- Anonymous, 06:21:41 10/29/07 Mon [1]

No one owns colors. My pageant is black and Hot pink for years and I have seen hundreds of other pageants use the same color. Also I have red white and blue pageants for my main system. WOW There are TONS of directors that use rwb. You use any color you want!!!! Dont change colors

[> [> My dd hasn't been in one where she got a "princess" crown/sash. But, I don't think she'd care about the sash. I think the sash is only useful if you're representing your title. I don't think many people represent "princess" titles, but for girls who love the crowns, it's always nice to go home with a tiara, even if you're a runner-up! [> Oh I can get real nit-picky with this but I wont, lol......I like it when the Stage or even the room is not filled with Prize tables or vendors! That way the children do not get distracted!! Also if you have a winner of each side award/overalls/catagories such as Sleepwear,Costume, OOC, Sportswear, etc.the child wins some type of certificate with the award won and a stage pic of what they wore!! My DD also LOVES Crowns Sashes and Medals, even if she was a 1RU!! I have now donated my Trophies and keep the engraved label that was on them for the scrapbook!! Hope that helps!!! -- Anonymous, 18:34:18 10/24/07 Wed [1]

Like our "Coats for Kids" pageant. When the contestants play a part in picking out the coat and seeing the childs face when they receive it, it makes them want to do another one all the more!

[> [> NO. I hate that. As a "natrual" mom, I've seen the "both sides" pageants and they tend to be less natural than the "natural" pageants. I like age-appropriate makeup, Sunday or flower girl dress, and hair fixed, but not fake. Those with a glitz side tend to go full makeup, hair, glitz dress, etc. Just My Opinion!!! -- Anonymous, 12:05:50 10/26/07 Fri [1]

[> We are new to pageants and were thinking of going to a pageant whos attire is Sunday Best, Flower Girl or Glitz and no modeling necessary. The director assured me that there are no dress scores or modeling scores. My very good friend who has been in pageants for many years told me not to waste my money since I was planning to dress my dd in Sunday Best and she does not do pro am. She said she has been to this pageant 3 years and never seen a child win who was not in full glitz and did not do pro am. This is so unfair of this director and is the reason we don't so many pageants. -- Anonymous, 10:34:49 11/10/07 Sat [1]
