Subject: Here's an idea from PFFPC. We can't do it but someone should. Maybe a director. Make a board or site for judges.

I know that getting the judges has to be the most important thing to these directors. I bet its not easy trying to get a good impartial judge. Ask for their history and follow up with calls to the directors they have judged for. Do a really good check on them. If someone does this we will provide a link to your board or site.

[> Sometimes I just hate it when they use circuit judges. They judge so much and have seen these contestants all the time and cant help but have preconcieved feelings of contestants that have won before. But I imagine its hard to find judges that havent. -- Anonymous, 10:12:20 10/24/07 Wed [1]

[> I wish some of the directors would just get people and train them. Use video tapes or whatever they need to do. A director has a right to tell the judges what she is looking for in a winner. It's her pageant. Too many directors just leave it in the judges hands and that is not good. I don't mean to tell them who to pick. I mean if shes looking for a beautiful face and they are looking for full package and pick what they want. Thats wrong. These type of things are what causes the pageants to go wrong as far as what the director puts in her paperwork. -- Anonymous, 07:26:49 10/26/07 Fri [1]

[> [> That is a great point. I have a set of rules for my judges for every pageant. I send them out two weeks in advance, have them sign them it at the pageant and put a copy in every registration packet. -- Anonymous, 08:10:09 10/26/07 Fri [1]

[> [> I have to say, though, we have recently participated in a "natural" pageant that paperwork said facial beauty and personality. Problem was we were sitting waiting for pageant to start and director went to her judges and stated "I want you to look for facial beauty only, do you understand, I want facial beauty." I have a 9-month old. How do you think that made me feel when we win (most of the time) on our personality. I see where it COULD be the directors decision, but they need to follow their own "paperwork". -- Anonymous, 19:59:37 11/04/07 Sun [1]

[> [> [> Ijudged a pageant recently with 2 other state title holders, where the director told us who to choose for Ultimate Queen. All 3 of us scored another girl the highest. When the winner were announced the Ultimate was not the judges choice. This director has large pageants all year, not just her "national" None of us said anytrhing because we didn't want to cause a riot in the hall. Looking back now I wish we had done something and it makes me wonder about the titles we hold. -- Anonymous, 21:33:32 11/10/07 Sat [1]

[> [> [> [> I think you should say something. I know its hard to stand up and do that, but the director is a cheat and robbed someone of a title they paid for, Most pageant moms know who their competition is and when that happens the director blames the judges. If you do that everyone will know your honest about it. Cheating directors wont use you again, but the honest ones will be more than glad to use you. -- Anonymous, 06:59:34 11/11/07 Sun [1]
