- `WE LIVE IN A TIME THAT TESTS ONE'S NERVES' -

These were Lyn's opening words in the regular Tuesday night
meeting with the NEC and LYM. We have reached a showdown moment,
where the housing/financial crisis has already collapsed the
dollar by well over 30 percent under Bush-Cheney. The housing
crisis is going to accelerate. The crash of the financial system
is far worse than 1929-1933. It is a breakdown, and it is
onrushing. Paulson, who is not a total idiot, is behaving {like}
an idiot overcome by panic. Goldman Sachs is going down. The
only thing that the Anglo-Dutch liberals have left is a Hitler
option.

Cheney is the Hitler figure. Cheney's dilemma is that he
cannot trust the Army and he cannot trust the Navy to carry out
his orders to start World War III by attacking Iran. Serious
military commanders from these services do not want to find
themselves in the docket at a new war crimes tribunal, so they
will resist. All that Cheney has is the Air Force. They are
loyal to Cheney and they would be willing to launch World War
III.

Go back, Lyn insisted, to 911. This was done by Cheney and
the British BAE apparatus, by the Blair government, by the Queen
of England. They came inches away from dictatorship in the
United States during the hours and days following 911. It didn't
quite work. But they are going to try again--don't kid yourself.
After all, these are the people who killed JFK and scared LBJ
shitless, to the point that he went along with the Gulf of Tonkin
scam, drawing us into the Indochina war. This, plus the
assassinations of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King brought
us Nixon. And it also set the stage for the 68'ers, who were
predominantly fascist in their outlook. It is this fascist
outlook that we see once again from the same 68'ers in the
Congress and the Senate today. Fascism, Lyn said, is green, not
brown.

Lyn next turned in the discussion to the youth generation.
In response to a question from one of the LYM members, Lyn zeroed
in on My Space, Face Book and video games. The purpose of these
computer operations is to create a fascist mass base. Why else
would Rupert Murdoch have poured billions into My Space? And why
else would Bill Gates from Microsoft have spent equal amounts of
money buying Face Book and promoting the most violent
point-and-shoot video games? They want to take young people, in
the prime of their creative life, and turn them into
cyber-zombies, addicted to a computer screen, caught up in
fantasy land, withdrawn from reality.

We are going to work up a very good cartoon, showing an
empty grave, marked ``Welcome to My Space,'' and a tombstone with
a face on it, marked ``Welcome to Face Book.'' That is what
these computer cybernetic schemes are: These are mental
cemetaries, aimed at trapping the entire youth generation,
turning them into cyber-fodder for the New Hitler Movement.

If you want to understand the world that is being created
for today's youth, look at H.G. Wells, Aldous Huxley, Bertrand
Russell. Specifically, look at Well's {The Shape of Things to
Come}, that was made into a Hollywood movie, {Things to Come}.
Look at the world depicted in that book/movie--a post-nuclear
holocaust zombie land administered by a world government. This
is the Dionysian Cult of Huxley et al.

If we don't take on this cyber-zombie scheme, we will never
get at the underlying bum cultural axioms. Could we have
recruited in the late 1960s and early 1970s if we didn't go after
the Counterculture? This is the same thing. We must juxtapose
this green cyber-fascism to the genuine needs and demands of the
population--even the mass of people who are too confused and
under it to see the real picture. What do people want for
themselves and their families? They want a home, they want food
on the table, they want their pensions paid, they want some hope
for their children's future. These are true and valued things,
that people will fight for--under the right leadership. That is
our job. We have to create a political firewall against lunacy.

This is ultimately what FDR was all about. Yes, he had some
more sophisticated ideas and approaches. But at his heart his
political principle was to fight for simple things--the general
welfare. That is the basic flag. Defend the general welfare.

To do this, to be truly patriotic, you have to have steady
nerves. Don't succumb to fears, don't go flight forward either.
People crack over fear of what the enemy is doing. Lyn's
approach is just the opposite. Be tough, don't allow any soft
flanks to be exposed. Induce the enemy to make mistakes--to
reveal what is under their robes. Borrow a valuable lesson from
Von Moltke the Elder, who developed the idea of {aufstragtaktik}
during the Franco-Prussian Wars. Develop the capacity to carry
out innovations, while not violating the intentions of the
commanders.

Lyn briefly went through some of his own experiences during
the Truman and McCarthy period, when he came under vicious
personal attack and harassment. It didn't end when Eisenhower
took down McCarthy, because the FBI of J. Edgar Hoover continued
to relentlessly pursue the work of McCarthy, Roy Cohn, etc. Lyn
said that you have got to expect this kind of treatment when you
wage patriotic war versus the British. Some people crack. Molly
cracked around 1988. Costas Kalimtgis got broken back in the
mid-1970s around the Mountain Lakes setup, which was arranged by
an agent inside the organization. This is how these things work.
This is SOP: target people's weaknesses. So, don't give them
anything to attack. Stick to the truth. You never go wrong,
even if you go to jail, or they try to kill you.

We have, Lyn said, friends outside the organization, who are
collaborators and carry forward this fight along with us.
Consider the following: We went through a very long period
where, virtually every U.S. President who wasn't assassinated by
the British, from Andrew Jackson up until the election of Abraham
Lincoln, was rotten--some outright traitors and British agents.
Jackson, Van Buren, Polk, Pierce, Buchanan--all totally rotten
British assets or ass kissers. So how did the nation survive?
We are a nation of patriotic institutions, which have evolved out
of the original Society of Cincinnati, of George Washington,
Alexander Hamilton, the Marquis de Lafayette, et al. The
succeeding generation included people like James Fenimore Cooper,
Winfield Scott, Edgar Allen Poe. It is this American tradition,
with institutional roots, that keeps the country going, even in
periods like this when everything is on the table. Yes, we are
on the verge of the end of civilization, but we are also on the
verge of the salvation of civilization. It is up to us to
determine which way things go. And Lyn said that he is quite
optimistic that we are going to win--over the political corpses
of some of your favorite Congressmen.

- -------------------------------------------------------- -

And speaking of Nancy Pelosi, the Kennedy Machine, Arnold
Schwarzenegger (the rightwing Austrian son that Joe Kennedy never
had), ruminate over the following, courtesy of Suzanne Rose:

The book {Roosevelt and Kennedy} has a number of interesting
passages on Joe Kennedy's fascism. One is from Harold Ickes'
diary in 1938. Ickes wrote: ``Roosevelt related an astonishing
exchange. Kennedy had remonstrated him for criticizing fascism in
his speeches. It was all right to attack Nazism--not fascism.
Why? Kennedy had said that he frankly thought we would have to
`come to some form of fascism here.' `Joe Kennedy, if he were in
power,' the President went on,`would give us a fascist form of
government. He would organize a small powerful committee under
himself as chairman and this committee would run the country
without much reference to the Congress.' ''

IN DEPTH

LEADING DEVELOPMENTS

LaRouche HBPA Act Read into Record of Congressional Hearing

Oct. 30, 2007 (LPAC)--Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) today read
a key section of LaRouche's Homeowners and Bank Protection Act
into the record of a hearing of a subcommittee of the Judiciary
Committee. The subject of the hearing was "How We Can Protect
Homeownership and Provide Relief to Consumers in Financial
Distress," and witnesses were discussing Rep. Brad Miller's
(D-NC) HR 3609, which would seek to protect homeowners by
tweaking US personal bankruptcy laws -- obviously irrelevant at a
time when many millions of foreclosures are expected.
When his turn came to question witness Mark Zandi, chief
economist of Moody's, Rep. Conyers told him, "Some of my friends
are asking me to do the following," and read him the following
two paragraphs from Michigan House Resolution No. 190, introduced
Sept. 28 by State Representative LaMar Lemmons, with 21
co-sponsors.
"Whereas, During the transitional period, all foreclosures
should be frozen, allowing American families to retain their
homes. Monthly payments, the equivalent of rental payments,
should be made to designated banks, which can use the funds as
collateral for normal lending practices, thus recapitalizing the
banking system. These payments will be factored into new
mortgages, reflecting the deflating of the housing bubble and the
establishment of appropriate property valuations and reduced
interest rates; and

"Whereas, State governments should assume the administrative
responsibilities for implementing the program, including the
rental assessments to designated banks. The federal government
should provide the necessary credits and guarantees to assure the
successful transition;..."

Witness Zandi rejected this, and the hearing was almost
immediately interrupted for a floor vote. [ap]

Argentina's President-elect: "We Have the Potential to Do Great
Things"

Oct. 30 (LPAC)--In her first interview following her Oct. 28
victory, Argentina's President-elect Sen. Cristina Fernandez de
Kirchner, who is also First Lady, emphasized that with her
election, Argentina "has repositioned itself in Latin America.
We've come home, after having left thinking our partners were the
big boys."
The latter is a reference to former President Carlos Menem,
who boasted during his 1989-1999 Presidency that his IMF-dictated
free-market policies had placed Argentina in the "First World,"
apart from its Ibero-American neighbors. In contrast to that
insane outlook, Sen. Fernandez stressed that Argentina "has an
important role to play in Latin America," helping to strengthen
the region, while expanding the Common Market of the South
(Mercosur) of which it is a leading member.
Argentina has the potential "to do great things," Sen.
Fernandez told interviewer Joaquin Morales Sola, a commentator
for the right-wing daily La Nacion who has been part of the media
chorus that consistently labeled President Nestor Kirchner as
"anti-democratic" and "authoritarian." Speaking on the Todo
Noticias program "Desde el Llano," she identified her top
priorities as combatting poverty, intensifying the fight against
unemployment, ensuring all Argentines' access to healthcare and
education, and "doing everything related to improving peoples'
quality of life."
Asked by Morales what country she would want Argentina to
look like, the Senator laughed, saying, "I think we can do very
well if we look just like ourselves. We have a very high level of
human resources, which is recognized around the world." She
added, however, that Germany has many characteristics she finds
attractive: it is "an exporting country, with a very high level
of technology, which is what distinguishes it, with value-added,
and technological innovation." [crr]

AARHUS, Oct. 30 -- FIRST PRESS BREAKTHROUGH OF THE DANISH
ELECTION CAMPAIGN TODAY. Yesterday's Aarhus section of
{Jyllands-Posten}, Denmark's largest newspaper, had a very good
article about our Parliament candidate Janus Kramer Moeller, who
is running as an independent there. The Aarhus-based daily
reported on Janus' comments on the international financial
collapse, and the need for a New Bretton Woods solution, and also
included a section about his call for a maglev line between
Denmark's two major cities, Aarhus and Copenhagen, and for
nuclear power and space technology as a way to get out of the
crisis. The article also included a discussion of his chances of
getting into Parliament as an independent, which has actually
been done by another candidate in his district--a comic who ran
as a joke and won.
There was also a box with a very good description of the
Schiller Institute as an international organization which fights
against zero growth, named after the poet Schiller. It has
branches throughout the world, and wants, by removing the current
financial system, to create peace and justice for all of people
of the world. It was founded by Helga Zepp-LaRouche, the wife of
Lyndon LaRouche, the American economist and politician. It has
about 300 members in Denmark. A more exact translation will come
tomorrow. See the article at www.jp.dk/arkiv/?id=1147844
Tom Gillesberg, our candidate in Copenhagen, had long
interviews with two other major press on Oct. 29, while
campaigning at a central square in Copenhagen, together with a
LYM chorus; with coverage expected tonight and tomorrow. Further
organizing details are in the European Ops Bulletin. [mr_]

LaRouche Inspires Promoters of PLHINO Water Project

SONORA, MEXICO, Oct. 30 (LPAC)--As organizing intensifies for a
major Nov. 9 conference in this state on the regional water
management project known as the North West Hydraulic Plan
(PLHINO), Sonora's Diario del Yaqui published a front-page story
in its Oct. 28 Sunday edition, highlighting the importance of the
PLHINO, and U.S. economist Lyndon LaRouche's role in organizing
for the project.

"Demand for this project has taken on a second wind, and arises
once again as the paradigm of a plan without which the country
will lose its food self-sufficiency, and the Northwest of Mexico
its future," the Diario del Yaqui article opens. It then reports
honestly who created this "second wind," informing its readers
that "since 2003, the leaders of the Permanent Forum of Rural
Producers, Alberto Vizcarra Osuna, Adalberto Rosas Lopez and
Jaime Miranda Pelaez, inspired by the economic concepts of Lyndon
H. LaRouche, former U.S. Presidential candidate, have intensified
their drive for the construction of this great project."

Organizers "drew up a document addressed to Sonora Governor
Eduardo Bours, which proposes that the economic reactivation and
reconstruction of the region have as its focus the completion of
the PLHINO project."
The article lists the 35 organizations in the state which
formed the "Pro PLHINO of the 21st Century Committee" last August
15, and jumps to an entire page inside the paper on the project.

Al Gore, Sarkozy Announce New Green Financial Bubble

Oct 20, 2007 (LPAC)--After an introductory speech by Al Gore
announced the "end of the world atmosphere," French President
Nicolas Sarkozy announced last Thursday, Oct. 25, an
all-encompassing green revolution, including ideological,
financial, and economic measures.
Jose Manuel Barroso, the president of the European
Commission, Al Gore, and Nicolas Sarkozy laid out their policy
for France at a ceremony involving practically all French
ministers, environmental associations, and the leaders of main
trade unions and business associations. It is a massive
orientation towards the creation of a green economic driver,
complete with a financial bubble. The result of months of
preparatory work, organized by the Environment and Transport
Ministry, but involving several other ministries, the entire
drawn-out process was referred to here as the Grenelle, a direct
reference to negotiations at the center of the 1968 ("68-er")
Paris strikes.
Among the ideological measures: special labels for
carbon-free products; a carbon tax on all carbon-heavy products
will be studied and could evolve into a complete rewriting of the
entire tax code; and in the future, all public projects will be
adopted on the basis of their "carbon compatibility." On the
financial side, both Jose Manuel Barroso, who was the first
speaker, and Nicolas Sarkozy, pleaded in favor of the development
of the European integrated financial market on carbon "rights to
pollute."
On the economic side, the green revolution will pave the way
to "massive" investment projects. 400,000 old housing units will
be renovated each year and brought up to modern energy-savings
standards. First in line will be 800,000 public housing units
which are badly in need.
An actually very beneficial transportation program, intends
to replace 3 million trucks on the French highways between 2012
and 2020 by, 1) creation of 2000 km of new high-speed train lines
(TGV), with the old lines being oriented towards cargo transport,
and, 2) the creation of an integrated network of rivers to be
used for cargo transport, and development of seaports, so that
goods will come into France via its ports, and not through
trucks.
Where the money will come for such "massive" projects, as
Sarkozy presented them, will only be announced early 2008, when
the full program is adopted.
Among the disastrous elements of the project, Sarkozy
committed himself not to build any new nuclear power stations in
France, and guaranteed that for every euro spent on nuclear
energy, another euro will be spent in the development of
"renewable energies." [zzz/mpb]
