- THE RECRUITMENT DYNAMIC OF THIS HBPA MOBILIZATION -

The collapse of the dollar has again accelerated by every
measure, revealing the collapse of the financial system underway.
It has drawn a new, worried public warning from the highest level
of the Chinese government, as well as new forecasts from
financial economists of losses and credit collapse no longer in
the billions, but in the trillions. Even these alarms, Lyndon
LaRouche noted yesterday, while they are now glimpsing the
outlines of a reversed-leverage chain-reaction collapse in
process, are still underestimating and denying that the entire
financial system is going to pieces. Economies will be worse than
savaged, they'll be destroyed outright unless firewalls of
targetted national government action protect them.
Lyn re-emphasized two primary demands of truthful organizing
at this turning point, relevant to the two powerful flanks we're
driving on. First, we {insist}, in the HBPA drive, that
protecting the chartered banks is saving the national economy,
with no pandering to any lower common denominator around simply
"stopping foreclosures"; "If your bank goes, you're gone"--a
banking collapse brings down the economy and nobody's home and
mortgage is worth one devalued dollar. And a banking collapse
makes reviving the economy impossible. HBPA is an essential first
step--we've said it many times--with that firewall erected, the
following steps to a New Bretton Woods are uniquely Lyn's
territory. He is involved in important and sensitive
international steps toward that new system, in addition to very
public paths like the series of conferences from Kiedrich, which
he is shaping to that end. {Without the protection of the regular
banking system from the mortgage meltdown, the United States does
not reach those steps.} So there is no protecting homeowners, or
jobs, or the economy, without protecting those regular,
depository banks from the whirlwind collapse of trillions of
speculative paper that is hitting.
In this connection, don't be caught libelling Herbert Hoover
by comparing him to George W. Bush. Which will history hate the
most? And more important, how could a Democratic Congress under
Nancy Pelosi's whip have gotten down lower than both?
The most effective lobbying for legislation is {recruiting}
to the LYM, Lyn said, and that's where our leverage has gotten
weak, at times, on the actual dynamics of the mobilization for
such as the HBPA. Thus, the second flanking campaign, in
parallel--this is real strong leverage.
The preparation and publication of the LYM's pamphlet
exposing MySpace/Facebook/Microsoft Internet menticide and
murder, is the beginning of our taking responsibility for dealing
with a new wave of terrorism. No one else is going to deal with
this terrorism, and some will oppose us in dealing with it; but
we are going to have very effective means to do it, beginning
with this very powerful pamphlet.
This is a vital flank with double intention: save the adult
campus-aged youth from a "1984" culture of Internet ignorance and
political apathy and helplessness; and make them aware that their
younger brothers and sisters are now actually targetted, and a
few being "selected," as potential Internet suicide terrorists.
This is being induced, and certain thinktanks and
financial/military groups are monitoring "every keystroke these
kids make" on MySpace and Facebook for this potential selection
process.
This is a very strong threat in parts of Europe, as here,
and feeding off each other. It's equivalent in form to Middle
East and other suicide terrorism, though the weapons are usually
guns rather than bombs. This is sociology as a weapon of mass
terrorism, and the target victim/killers are 13-14 to 18 years
old. It is the other dimension of Cheney's Revolution in Military
Affairs (RMA) so-called, a tilt of technology and conception
which began in the mid-'90s to make RMA military training a mass
product for teenagers. Now the "sociology" has been added under
the financial thumbs of the likes of Rupert Murdoch, Bill Gates,
Shultz, Rohatyn. So there could be many more of these suicide
killers coming from MySpace and Facebook, Lyn warned: But, we can
turn the whole thing around and kill {it}.

Lyn's recent personal emphases on certain important issues
of the so-called Annapolis Conference preparation, and the
destabilization of Pakistan, are becoming very live issues,
widely covered and debated--see reports below. Congress has got
to be liberated from Nancy Pelosi and her owner Felix Rohatyn, so
they can impeach Dick Cheney, fast. But who triggered HR 333 in
the first place? So that is also a dynamic--the key to it, again,
is the pace of recruitment to the LYM.

PRESIDENT GENERAL PERVEZ MUSHARRAF ARRIVED IN RIYADH on Nov.
20 on a brief but a strategic visit to Saudi Arabia. He was
received at the Al Riyadh International Airport by Saudi Foreign
Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal, Prince Muqurin bin Abdul Aziz and
other officials.

IN DEPTH

LEADING DEVELOPMENTS

Chinese Prime Minister Warns US on Dollar Collapse

Nov. 20, 2007 (LPAC)--Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao made a
strong statement threatening the outright collapse of the dollar
on Nov. 19, the latest and highest-ranking of a series of urgent
statements from Chinese officials concerning the dollar's plunge.
Wen said, "We have never before experienced such great stress" in
maintaining stable currency relations. "We are worried about how
to preserve the value of our reserves." Wen spoke in Singapore,
according to the Financial Crimes.
As the Chinese Prime Minister spoke, the U.S. currency's
fall was aggravated by rumors circulated on Asian markets, of an
alleged emergency meeting of the Federal Reserve. As of midday
Nov. 20 in Europe, the dollar had lost almost 1% against the
Euro, dropping to an all-time low, 1% against the Canadian
dollar, and 0.61% against the Swiss Franc. [ccc]

U.S. Invites Syria to Annapolis Meeting; Efforts by Right-wing
Israel Lobby to Cancel Meeting Failing

November 20 (EIRNS)--Hardliners in the U.S.-based Israeli lobby
reportedly paid a visit to President George W. Bush in
mid-October to deliver the message that the White House should
drop plans for a so-called peace conference on reaching an
Israeli-Palestinian agreement on Palestinian statehood, reported
a Washington intelligence source to EIR. Despite this pressure
however, Bush commissioned Secretary of State Condi Rice to
continue to expand the meeting. Israeli sources told EIR that it
is the usual Netanyahu networks that are attempting to stop {any}
meeting from happening on Palestinian statehood, and the visit to
the White House came immediately after a U.S. visit by Likud
fascist Benyamin Netanyahu to the U.S., where he met with Vice
President Dick Cheney.
Briefed on numerous reports on the attempted sabotage of the
Annapolis meeting by neo-conservatives in Israel and the U.S., as
well as by political circles in Iran and other Southwest Asian
countries, Lyndon LaRouche said yesterday, that we should
``concentrate on making some progress. Allow the Annapolis
meeting to develop some daylight. Frame it on the idea that
negotiations between Israel and Syria will go ahead. This will
change the whole environment in a way in which the
Palestine-Israel issue can be successfully addressed.''
Following a barrage of back-channel discussions between
Israel and Syria, which included statements concerning the desire
for peace talks communicated by top Turkish officials to Israeli
President Shimon Peres from Syrian President Bashir al-Assad, the
U.S. has included Syria on a list of invitees to the Annapolis
meeting, Associated Press reports. U.S. intelligence sources
confirm that the back-channel exchanges already underway between
Israel and Syria are bearing fruit, and that factions of both
Kadima and Labor believe that a peace deal with Syria is a
critical step towards settling the more complicated negotiations
with the Palestinians, especially given the Hamas takeover of the
Gaza Strip. (mjs)

Johnstown and Ellwood City, Pennsylvania Call on Congress for
Homeowners and Bank Protection Act

November 20 (LPAC)--On Nov. 19, Johnstown and Ellwood City,
Pennsylvania, joined the parade of U.S. cities demanding of
Congress that it act, now, to save homeowners from millions of
foreclosures and social chaos, and save banks from being shut
down by the mortgage-meltdown losses. The City Councils of both
cities voted to support and join the state legislature's H.R.
418, calling on Pennsylvania's Congressional delegation to
introduce the Homeowners and Bank Protection Act (HBPA),
initiated by Lyndon LaRouche Political Action Committee.
The Johnstown resolution, passed unanimously by a vote of
7-0, had been motivated to the Council by LPAC representative
Philip Valenti. It reads:

WHEREAS Pennsylvania House Resolution 418 is a bipartisan
resolution introduced October 2, 2007 to the Pennsylvania House
of Representatives, which calls on the U.S. Congress to take
emergency action to protect homeowners and banks by enacting a
Homeowners and Banks Protection Act; and
WHEREAS said Act would establish a Federal agency to place
Federal and State chartered banks under protection, freezing all
existing home mortgages for a period of time, adjusting mortgage
values to fair prices, restructuring existing mortgages at
appropriate interest rates and writing off speculative debt
obligations of mortgage-backed securities, financial derivatives,
and other forms of financial pyramid schemes that have brought
the banking system to the point of bankruptcy; and
WHEREAS said Act would also declare a moratorium on all home
foreclosures for the duration of the transitional period,
allowing families to retain their homes and authorize governors
of several states to assume the administrative responsibilities
for implementing the program; and
WHEREAS said Act would benefit the Citizens of New Castle
and protect their assets during this period of financial unrest
that is leading to home foreclosures in record numbers; NOW,
WHEREAS, said Act would benefit the Citizens of Johnstown and
protect their assets during this period of financial unrest that
is leading to home foreclosures in record numbers.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JOHNSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA, that the Johnstown City Council and the
Administration urges our Federal Officials to support the
measures suggested in Pennsylvania House Resolution 418.

The vote was certified on November 20.

California Democrats Back LaRouche Youth Movement Housing
Resolution

Nov. 20 (LPAC)--The resolution printed below was passed Saturday,
Nov. 17, 2007 at the Executive Board meeting of the California
Democratic Party. It was submitted by the L.A. County Democratic
Party, which passed it at the July 2007 meeting. It was drafted
by LYM member Ardena Clark, and was introduced before Lyndon
LaRouche drafted his HBPA. The final version was amended by the
Resolutions Committee of the L.A. County Committee in July, and
placed before the State Party Resolutions Committee, recommended
by the County Committee.

WHEREAS, keeping people in their homes and preventing
predatory lending practices are values long supported by the
Democratic Party, and are present in the rights established in
the general welfare clause in the Preamble of our Constitution;
and

WHEREAS, the projected number of foreclosures in 2007 is up
to two million homes (John Burns Real Estate Consulting, May 22,
2007), many due to unethical lending practices; and

WHEREAS, the collapse of hedge funds, e.g., Bear Stearns,
heavily invested in sub-prime mortgages, threatens to set off a
chain reaction collapse of the Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS)
and Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO) markets, jeopardizing
many national programs such as student loans and pensions,
causing ultimately, the blow out of the global monetary and
financial system;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the California Democratic
Party ask the California Congressional delegation to lead the way
in creating governmental institutions whose purpose is to direct
credit and other lending organizations to keep people in their
homes, in a manner similar to Franklin Roosevelt's Home Owners
Loan Corporation; and

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the California
Democratic Party urge the California Congressional delegation
introduce legislation that would prevent and/or mitigate against
a global financial crisis. [hcs]

Schumer's and Frank's Fantasies Dashed: Freddie Mac Posts Huge
Losses

Nov. 20, (LPAC)--It had been the (misplaced) hope of
Congressional leaders, such as Barney Frank (D-MA) and Charles
Schumer (D-NY), that home lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie
Mac could absorb the losses stemming from the expanding real
estate collapse, and that that would be the end of the story.
Instead, the financial crash has proven to be "end of their
delusion."
A new chapter was added to that story Tuesday, when Freddie
Mac reported a net loss of $2 billion for the third quarter,
almost three times its loss of $715 million during the same
period a year earlier; this report came two weeks after large
losses, and asset shrinkage, reported by Fannie Mae in the third
quarter. Freddie Mac also announced an $8.1 billion, or 25% drop,
in the fair value of its assets, and it said it had set aside
$1.2 billion to cover future credit losses.
In its statement, Freddie also said it has hired Wall Street
firms Goldman Sachs and Lehman Brothers to help its leadership
"consider very near-term capital-raising alternatives," otherwise
indicating that they were strapped for cash, which is further bad
news for Congress.
Tuesday's report shows that the problems appear to be
spreading. Freddie said that 0.51% of its single-family (prime)
home loans were 90 days or more delinquent in September, up from
0.42% in June. When interviewed by Bloomberg News, Freddie's
Chief Financial Officer, Anthony Piszel, further declared that,
"There is nothing we see right now to be more optimistic for
fourth-quarter performance."
Congress must now acknowledge what only LaRouche has so far
told them: that this is much more than just a "housing" crisis,
and that any effective solutions must address these larger
issues. The Home Owners and Bank Protection Act is the first step
in that direction. [mpb]

LaRouche Movement Is Growing in the Philippines

Nov. 19, Manila (LPAC)--The Philippine LaRouche Society (PLS) and
the Philippines LaRouche Youth Movement (PLYM) hosted a two-day
seminar in Manila on Nov. 16-17, called "A New Renaissance, or a
New Dark Age?" Their meetings generated optimism from the over
100 participants that the current devastating breakdown crisis is
also a moment of great opportunity, to re-activate the repressed
tradition in the Philippines of Franklin Roosevelt's fight
against colonialism and fascism, and for a new world economic
order. FDR is remembered as the American President who renounced
his own nation's flirtation with colonialism, granting
independence to the Philippines in 1936, effective as of 1946.
About half the audience were college students attending a
LaRouche event for the first time, whose first impression from
the global briefing presented by visiting LPAC and EIR spokesman
Mike Billington was one of shock, that the global crisis had
reached such an extreme point of danger. Most of the others were
regular contacts of the LaRouche Movement, while many were
regular listeners of the radio show hosted by PLS leader Butch
Valdes, but were meeting the PLS in person for the first time.
The weekend included intense discussions of the banking
collapse taking place world-wide, and the danger of war if Cheney
is not removed from office immediately. The role of George Shultz
was a recurring theme--not only did Shultz pull the plug on the
Bretton Woods in 1971, and create the Bush-Cheney disaster, he
was also the architect of the 1986 US-orchestrated coup against
the Marcos regime, under the false guise of "people power" -- a
self-delusion which most Filipinos are finally beginning to
acknowledge. A description of the fight led by the LYM in the US
to move the situation there, putting fire under the impotent and
cowardly baby-boomers in the Congress to act on the crisis, led
to discussions of the potential for the Philippines to once again
take leadership among third-world nations, by reviving the
sovereignty lost in 1986, restarting the nuclear power plant and
other industrialization projects shut down by Shultz's coup, and
joining LaRouche's Four Power reorientation of the world economy.
Music was central to the weekend. PLYM leader Ver Archivido
performed the Chaconne from Bach's Partita No. 2 for
unaccompanied violin, transcribed for guitar by Segovia, with a
clarity and transparent sense of the long lines of development
which kept the audience riveted, despite the fact that most had
never heard such complex music, or any classical music at all. A
newer member of the PLS, who plays in the Philippine
Philharmonic, also performed the first movement of the first Bach
unaccompanied cello suite. Billington introduced the bell canto
singing method to the group, and despite much embarrassment,
especially by the students, he got everyone singing on both days,
learning the canons Donna Nobis Pacem and Mozart's Alleluia.
Billington presented a class on the history of the battle
between the American System and British colonialism in Asia in
the post-WWII era. The hope of the FDR policy for global
development, free of European colonialism, which was barely kept
alive after the British/Truman policy of nuclear incineration and
a return of the colonial powers, was finally totally crushed in
the 1960s, Billington demonstrated, by the US/British "regime
change" policies implemented in Indonesia and Vietnam (and
elsewhere), leading to genocide in both places, and isolating
China, precipitating the Chinese self-destruction of the Cultural
Revolution. The PLYM intends to pursue a study of this battle, to
help regain the initiative for the FDR/American system in Asia.
The second day was run entirely by the youth, who
demonstrated that the 3-4 years of collaboration with the
LaRouche movement internationally, through regular classes with
Butch Valdes and classes by phone from Leesburg, has indeed
created the beginnings of the young leadership required to save
the Philippines from its current horrific state of poverty and
decay. PLYM members Jehan, Kristoff and Marlou presented classes
on Aristophanes' measurement of the circumference of the Earth,
the hoax of global warming, and the emerging nuclear renaissance,
mostly in Tagalog (higher education in the Philippines is
conducted in English, but it is the second language to the
national tongue, Tagalog), moving the youth to grasp the urgency
of joining the LaRouche movement, both for their own education,
and as the only hope for creating a future for themselves and
their nation. Ver concluded the day with a workshop on spherics,
including a demonstration of the primacy of physical geometry
over Euclidian axiomatics, a Platonic dialogue on doubling the
square, a physical geometric proof of the Pythagorean Theorem,
and the circular-action generation of lines, points, and the
Platonic solids. Even the boomers attending were thrilled,
especially when they were caught arguing that the universe is
flat!
Plans for follow-up include monthly seminars/cadre schools,
PLYM presentations to university classes and clubs, and much
singing and scientific study, as well as expanding the PLS
intervention in the political crisis, with the precedent of FDR
and his global vision as the guide-post to place the nation at
the forefront of the LaRouche fight for a new Renaissance. [mob]
