being busy does work...sometimes, but of course there are many types of depression, and sufferers.

Im lucky, there was at least a cause - although, of course, it drags every other aspect of your life into the pit with it.

It was also temporary, so not the full blown depressions that others can get for months.

Im also lucky Ive had all the meditation and the theory about the mind, how it can put us into depressions, anxiety, happiness, sadness etc Even though I know that, it still doesnt enable me to control the mind when it runs.

Strangely enough a friend came round Friday evening. He's just broken up with his girlfriend. He had been very upset and depressed, but said on the third day, suddenly it all lifted. He watched his mind try and take him into thoughts of the breakup, and just stopped it. Hmmmm, thats what Im supposed to be able to do.
