I couldn't agree more with your first point, Michael. And I would include some of the Christian cults in your list, and charismata, for that matter.

For me, the spiritual journey is into a relationship with God. Since the important parts of this journey occur within oneself, I suppose I concur with you.

I believe that the future exists, but only God, who exists outside of time, knows what the future is, and he ain't telling. So, we don't know what the future is, but we are creating our part of it by our choices.

I don't believe anyone knows the future, but some people can make educated guesses, and some others can throw out predictions, and later on gather in the ones that came true, and ignore the ones that did not. Or make ones that are vague enough to fit anywhere.

I predict that the winner of the US elections will be an articulate and intelligent man with a young way of thinking, who ran an exciting race and won. You heard it here first!
