Oh I so identify with this problem! I have exactly the same in my office. I work alongside other teachers whom the college system has treated very badly indeed and they are very bitter about it - I completely understand why and think they are in the right. This has resulted in them having (understandably) a very, very negative attitude which they express all the time and I am finding it very depressing and de-motivating. And I don't know how to deal with it either. I do sometimes play music though headphones in order to not listen to their conversation, but that only cuts out a fraction of it. This often makes me feel like giving up teaching altogether, because I know that the points they are making are fair, and I'm not sure how to continue in a system that treats people like that.

You have my sympathies, but no constructive ideas!
