So, I Googled it, and to my surprise didn't get loaded down with homosexual pages. :D I would love to know how to encourage a fairy ring in my lawns. A type 1 fairy ring is the most 'damaging' having lush grass in the ring, and dead grass inside it. Apparently the underground part of the fungus interferes with water transfer to the grass inside the ring, if I read it right. A number of edible mushrooms may make up a fairy ring, including puffballs and agaricus campestris, a choice edible. I've had some puffballs appear in my back yard, one a year over a few years, and brought them in and cooked them, and had a. campestris in other lawns. Hmmm, shaggymanes would be nice.
