Subject: The Year if Living Biblically

As we used to get into a lot of discussions about biblical literalism on PM, some of you might want to look at this book, by A.J. Jacobs. Jacobs is a Jewish New York Agnostic with a good sense of humour, who set out, seriously, to spend a year obeying all the Biblical laws, as closely as possible.

The result is funny, compassionate, and filled with some interesting interpretations of Biblical law, mostly from a Jewish perspective. Personally, I love Jewish interpretations of Scripture, they've been doing it for so much longer and are so much better at it than us Christians.

Anyway, I won't give away anything, as there were some moments in the book that made me come as close to howling with laughter as I ever have.

You may enjoy his other book, The Know-it-all, too, which I was given last year.
