yes, I agree. I think that simple act has shown her what sort of person you are. Whilst she may be painfully shy, she now knows that she can trust you, and that you are understanding and compassionate. That one act said more than hours of talk.

She does seem very shy though. She will need a lot of patient, gentle encouragement to slowly gain confidence in you, your family and perhaps the world in general. I think she has found her ideal mother-in-law.

Have you met her parents? Is her mother similar? Has she been brought up this way? or is it just her nature?
