Well, I just finished watching it. As far as the religious aspect of the thing, I have heard some but not all of it before. I have always known there are corollarys between Christianity and religions that came before it. I knew, for instance, that many Christian dates were borrowed from so-called pagan holidays to make it easier to sell to the masses at its conception. Christians see many things in the old testament that presaged the coming of Christ. It wouldn't be too far fetched to look at the similarities of prior religions and say they were pointing to, and culminating in, the age of Christ. But, to be truthful, I don't understand why the film felt it need to go into the religious aspect at all. If the purpose of the film was to make us fear the international banking conspiracy, why not just focus on that?
One world government. I guess we've all read stories in this regards. I don't discredit any of what the film had to say here. It's scary stuff indeed. But, because it had already trashed Christianity, it wasn't able to point to the corollary between the 'implanted chip' and the mark of the beast - 666. I would think they would want to enlist the support of the Christians of the world to fight against the One World Government - using the mark of the beast to scare them into action. But instead, it spends part of the movie trashing religion. Or at least it trashes Judeo-Christianity. Nothing is said about the Muslim religion - I wonder why? And it works very hard to dispel any belief that Muslims had anything to do with UK's 7/7 attacks and the US 9/11 attacks. Is there another form of conspiracy at work here? I dunno. It makes me wonder what the true motive is behind the movie - is it to destroy Western people's belief in their government and social structure? I think that is pretty obvious. But what do they replace it with? I was waiting at the end of the movie for some concrete answers or suggestions about what people could do - but nothing concrete was said. They simply quote Jimi Hendrix when he says "when the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace". I was hoping for something more substantial. And so it left me wondering if the real purpose of the thing was to draw our focus away from the concept that Muslim terrorism is real and is killing people. And it also leads me to wonder who really financed the making of the film. I'm afraid it leaves me with more questions than it answers.
