Well, the scene where Casey was whipped was an homage of sorts to the whipping scene in 'Trinity' where Conor is whipped and is totally rebellious throughout. Reading 'Trinity' was the thing that made me realize I wanted to be a writer myself, and so I wanted to just give a nod to the man. Other things might be so random that I don't remember them later, or where a certain idea came from- sometimes it's a magazine article or someone says something, or I have a memory that surfaces that sometimes just fits in the storyline. -- Cindy's Cottage
