Subject: You've said before that you NEED to write, that this form of expression is necessary for your well being. I don't know that there is anything I feel that passionate about that would be an essential to my sanity. I need fresh air, space, wilderness, but I don't think that's the same thing. I can try to imagine the dark places you must visit with your writing, carefully chosing your words to describe Pamela's rape, or the violence that erupted during the Derry march, but I don't know how successful I'd be. Though it has a price, I think without being able to express yourself through writing, you would be in an even darker place, Writing, meaningful writing, is part of you and is what makes your books so special.
