Subject: I just thought I would do a quick update, and maybe post a snippet.

I've been working away hard here and sorting the book out- what fits, what doesn't, what's still missing, what is surprisingly done- the last eight chapters of the book for instance, all in a nice shiny row. All I can say is, make sure you have a box of tissues nearby. :)

I was saying to Pat the other night that this book has been so difficult for some reason, I often feel like I am fighting with it, rather than flowing with it. He looked at me, like I was slightly simple and said, 'well, this one is alot more about Jamie than the previous books, isn't it?' I said 'yes,' not sure what he was getting at. Then he says, 'well, Jamie is always elusive and complicated, so the book will be too.' It was like I heard a click in my head when he said it, and realized that's probably exactly what is going on. So, if I am still working on this thing a year from now, you all can lay the blame squarely on His Lordship.

I'm going to post a snippet inside the first reply, well not so much a snippet as one of Jamie's journal entries- one that I don't think fits in the book- but I will share it here.

BTW, I appreciate how patient my readers are, yet enthusiastic at the same time. I rarely go downtown these days without someone asking me 'when?' or 'how is it coming?' But they are nice about it. :) You all are the core of my support writing wise, well outside of my hubby whose faith in my work kind of boggles my mind at times. So thank you for your patience and support. It really does keep me going.
